The set-net fishing gear has been pulled from the waters of the Cook Inlet and our gillnet drift fishers have officially called it a wrap. This marks the end of an amazing 2022 salmon season in Alaska. We managed through many tiring days and nights, choppy seas that got in the way of fishing from time to time, and a couple of close calls dodging huge moose while late night driving on the Sterling highway. Just a normal summer in Alaska.
We’re excited to report that we finished with a great haul of pristine wild salmon processed at our family-owned processing plant in Ninilchik. We’re so proud of our seasonal crew and small boat fishers that all bonded together to make the season possible. Together, we worked really hard, shared many adventures and had a load of laughs along the way. The season really was Kenai-Red’s “Get Wild” spirit in action.
A note from our fishermen: please say thank you to all your customers. Our lives have been improved thanks to them. Beyond making more money, they have brought more joy and purpose to our fishing lives.
Wonder to hear about your season and see the images of your team in Alaska! Makes me excited to receive my share of the catch!
