Behind the Scenes
The Cook Inlet salmon season is a whirlwind of activity, lasting approximately 6-7 weeks. Our days are filled with a relentless pace of fishing, ice delivery, tote loading, and what seems like endless transportation and logistics. Our processing crew works tirelessly in 12-hour shifts to ensure that the fish are handled with the utmost care and processed faster than other seafood companies. There are days when we look at each other and say “If people could only see everything that goes into bringing our wild salmon to their household.”
A Grateful Acknowledgement
We're incredibly grateful to our dedicated fishermen, including Paul, Scott, Will, Rick, Tim, Austin, and Daniel, to name a few. Their unwavering commitment to sustainable fishing practices and their love for their craft are evident in every fish they bring to shore. We're proud to support these hardworking individuals and their dedication to providing you with the best possible seafood.
Our processing crew, comprised of young and energetic individuals, has played a crucial role in our success. Their hard work and dedication have allowed us to process a record number of fish this season. We appreciate their commitment to quality and efficiency.
Leadership and Partnership
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our Alaska Operations Manager, Jamie Bellefeuille – the true backbone of our operation, and our local Alaskan team members, Josh and Josie. Their skills and work ethic have been invaluable throughout the season.
We're also fortunate to have the support of our partners, including Citizen Salmon, Fish Hawk Fisheries, Tanners Alaskan Seafood, and Kenai Fish. Their collaboration has been instrumental in our success.
Celebrating Achievement
Once the fishing season concluded in early August, our team took a well-deserved break to attend SalmonFest, a three-day music festival in our local town of Ninilchik. Not only did we enjoy all the amazing music, we were thrilled to once again be crowned the first place champion at the Smoked Salmon Super Bowl for our exceptional smoked salmon products.
