Crew holding processed salmon

2023 Early Season Update

Ninilchik, Alaska 6/28/23

Greetings from Ninilchik, Alaska! We’ve assembled a terrific group of young people who make up our seasonal crew. We’re thankful for our Alaska Operations and Plant Manager Jamie Bellefeuille and crew supervisor Skylar Weinstein. Joshua Jackson is our highly skilled head of the processing line. In addition we want to acknowledge our partner Aaron Sechler @ Citizen Salmon Alaska who does much to support our fishing operations and our crew.

Onboard again this summer are veterans Charlie Knott, Charlie Updegrove, Forrest Kayser and Isaac Potter. New crew members Zander Ascher, Zoey Buchanan and Toby Boudreau have fit right in and are working hard to bring our amazing wild salmon to your table.

Fishermen Austin and Cliff have already delivered some beautiful fish that the crew has been busy processing over the past few days . Aleks, Paul, Rick and others will be hitting their fishing grounds in the Cook Inlet soon and we’ll be receiving fish from our dock on the Kasilof river within days.

Today, we sent down some stunning fresh wild sockeye to our retailer partner, New Seasons Market in Portland. Beautiful vibrant red color and as fresh as it gets. If you live in the Portland – Vancouver area consider visiting your local New Seasons market for unmatched fresh, sockeye fillets.

No signs of summer yet...mostly mid-50’s with some rain, but no matter, we have a job to do. We trust the skies will clear and our beautiful view of volcanic mountains Redoubt and Iliamna will be visible from our bluff on the Cook Inlet soon.

We can’t wait for what unfolds next, so stay tuned. Thank you for supporting us, we quite literally can’t do it without you!
